Please contact Fr. Trym if you are interested in joining a group for the over-60s with regular gatherings.

Leaders needed for the Confirmation retreat

A joint Confirmation retreat with Hønefoss and Lillehammer takes place on 16–18 October. With many participants expected, the leadership team needs around 20 volunteers over the age of 18 from the three parishes. Contact Fr. Trym if you are interested or have questions.

Confessions on Fridays

The priest is usually available for confessions from 17:00 on Fridays. Confession can also be arranged on other days, before or after Mass.

Changes to the chapel in Rjukan

The final Mass in St. Johannes Chapel was celebrated on 28 June at 15:00. The furnishings and other rooms were to be cleared in connection with the sale of the property.

The parish needs more catechists

The parish needs volunteers to support children and young people in catechesis. Help is needed in Kongsberg, Notodden and Mo.

Holy Communion on Sundays from August

From August, Holy Communion at Sunday Mass is normally distributed under one kind, the Body of Christ. At weekday Masses, the priest continues to distribute Communion by intinction. The whole sacrament is received even when Communion is received under one kind. The change has been made for practical reasons and to establish a more sustainable and consistent practice.
