New Mass location in Rjukan

The parish has entered into a rental agreement with the Church of Norway. The next Mass in Rjukan Church is Sunday 4 October at 17:00.

Bishop's visitation

October 8

The bishop will visit the parish and celebrate Mass. Please help provide extra food for the coffee gathering after the Pontifical Mass.

Leaders needed for the Confirmation retreat

A joint Confirmation retreat with Hønefoss and Lillehammer takes place at Skogstad on 16–18 October. With many participants expected, the leadership team needs around 20 volunteers over the age of 18 from the three parishes. St. Barbara should also contribute some volunteers. Contact Fr. Trym if you are interested or have questions. The planning weekend is 18–19 September.

Building project at St. Barbara

Information about a diocesan fundraising campaign will be released soon. Parishes will identify their own projects to receive a share of the funds. St. Barbara plans to improve the outdoor area to create more space and make it more attractive, and to provide more parking spaces. The site inspection report and preliminary site plan are available to read in the parish hall.

Share your ideas for the parish hall

Please share your thoughts on the layout of the parish hall. We would also welcome ideas for making better use of the space and making coffee after Mass even more enjoyable.

Volunteers for a parish events committee

We would like to form a committee to plan parish celebrations and events throughout the year. Please contact Fr. Trym if you would like to help.

The parish needs more catechists

The parish needs volunteers to support children and young people in catechesis. Help is needed in Kongsberg, Notodden and Mo.
