St. Barbara Parish

About the parish

St. Barbara is the Catholic parish for Kongsberg, Numedal and Eastern Telemark. We celebrate Mass in Kongsberg, Notodden, Rjukan and Mo, bringing together Catholics from many countries and language backgrounds.

The parish serves Kongsberg, parts of Øvre Eiker, Modum, Sigdal, Flesberg, Rollag, Nore og Uvdal, Notodden, Hjartdal, Tinn, Vinje, Tokke, Seljord and Kviteseid.

Established in 2021, the parish is one of the youngest in the Catholic Diocese of Oslo. Our church in Rogstadbakken was consecrated to Saint Barbara in 2023. Saint Barbara is the patron saint of miners, and her feast day is 4 December.
